科场整肃与晚清吏治

清末吏治败坏,科举考试更是弊窦丛生,考官收受贿赂、阅卷马虎草率、判文不按规定、大员子弟舞弊、学政出题割裂。清政府曾进行大力整顿,甚至不惜严刑峻法,对一些违法官员处以极刑,在一定程度上抑制了科场腐败,维护了科举考试的公正性和严肃性,在社会上起到了震慑作用。

Imperial Examinations Rectification and Administration of Officials

The bad administration of officials in the late Qing Dynasty led to the corresponding corruption of the imperial examinations for the national selection of elites.The problems mainly lie in bribing examiners,correcting papers purposely,offering cheating chances for sons of high-ranking officials,etc.In order to clear up the mess,the central government made a great effort to preserve the principle of fair play and achieved some success by severe punishments such as the death's penalty of some violators.
