孝文帝当政之后,大力发展文教事业,搜罗文才,开展文学活动,倡导文学特别是纯文学创作,提高了北魏上层特别是拓跋贵族的文学素养,改正了北魏前期文学创作中存在的诸多不足,开创了后期繁盛的文学局面,促进了北方文学事业的发展.

Emperor Xiaowen and the literature development duringthe later period of the North Wei Dynasty

This article discusses the relationship between Emperor Xiaowen and the literature development during the later period of the North Wei Dynasty.After coming into power,Emperor Xiaowen took great efforts to develop culture and education,collect intellectuals,hold literature activities,and advocate the composition of literature especially pure literature.All these efforts improved the upper class(mainly the noblemen of Tuoba) of the North Wei's cultivation on literature,corrected many insufficiencies existing in the literary composition during the earlier period of the North Wei,created a new phase of the prosperity of literature,thus accelerated the development of the northern literature.
