A Discussion on the Expression of Love among Early Fiction of the May 4th New Literature

A lot of young writers paid close attention to love in their works of fiction i n the early period of the May 4th new literature. They tried to find out the new relationship between emotion and sexual desire in love. The main distinction of their viewpoints lay in their attitude about the sexual desire. There were thre e kinds of attitude: the helpless spiritual escape from the sexual desire, the t ortuous expression of the sexual desire and the true expression of the sexual de sire. The author analyses their opinions what was hidden from these expressions, and reveals the significance of their exploration and pursuit.
