| Abstract: | This paper explores the significance of performance assessment on the promotion of college English teaching reform.The writer first introduces some of the important concepts associated with performance assessment,and then compares it with standardized achievement tests for the purpose of pointing out its positive effects on building the learners' ability to use English comprehensively.The paper concludes by suggesting that a "teaching,learning and assessing" system would conduce more to the reform of college English teaching. |
