科学发展观是马克思主义世界观和方法论的重要组成部分,是同毛泽东、邓小平和江泽民同志关于发展的思想一脉相承的。党的先进性是具体的,历史的,是同党在各个历史时期面临的历史任务联系在一起的。党的先进性与科学发展观二者相互联系、有机统一,科学发展观是党的先进性的体现,同时又是新时期保持党的先进性的重要途径,保持党的先进性就必须坚持科学发展观,只有坚持科学发展观才能使党始终代表中国先进生产力的发展要求,始终代表中国先进文化的前进方向,始终代表中国最广大人民的根本利益,从而实现党全面建设小康社会的历史任务。
