A Brief Analysis of Untranslatability of Language

It is believed that the difficulties of translation and the so-called untranslatability are caused by the differences between the languages and cultures. In fact, the issue can be broken down into two categories： cultural untranslatability and linguistic untranslatability, relative untranslatability and absolute untranslatability, both of which must be recognized and treated specifically in a different approach in translating. The study of linguistic untranslatability contributes to the further understanding of differences in languages and cultures and further probing into translation theories, especially translation standards.
