| 摘 要： | "哭、泣、啼、号"是一组常见的同义词,但并非浑然无别,而是同中有异,古往今来都有人对他们进行过辨析,但众说纷纭,讫无确说。通过考察,可以认为"哭"是哭泣的通称,古今皆然;"泣"是多泪之哭,多指小声或无声流泪之哭;"啼"是大声之哭;"号"是声言交杂之哭。

| Abstract: | "Cry, weep, wail, and yell" is a group of common synonyms. They differ from each other in some way although they are basically the same. Research has been done on them since the early times, while there is no definite result yet. After careful discrimination, the author concludes as follows: the word "cry" is a general term from the ancient times till now; "weep" is a kind of crying with tears, and often means crying with tears in a low voice or noiselessly; "wail" is crying loudly; "Yell" is to utter a loud or sharp cry or cry as of pain, excitement, etc. |
