An Analysis of the Theme of Eternal Love in To His Coy Mistress

This paper probes into Andrew Marvell's masterpiece To His Coy Mistress which is brimming with different kinds of images, such as time images, which jointly convey the speaker's belief in eternal love. By analyzing those images used in this poem, this paper aims to highlight the theme of eternal love meanwhile the qualities of wit, courage, patience and thoughtfulness that the speaker possesses can not be ignored.
