| 摘 要： | 柏塘教案是19世纪下半期在广东地区发生的最重要的民教冲突事件,其爆发的原因是广东人民反洋教情绪的高涨和伸德辉神父的骄横跋扈。清政府在柏塘教案处理过程中,对内残酷打压,对外奴颜婢膝。法国巴黎外方传教会的政治传教方式虽然在一定程度上吸引和保护了教徒,但也纵容无赖教徒,使教会的形象受到很坏的影响。

| Abstract: | Botang case was the most serious conflict between Chinese and foreign missionaries in the Guangdong region. It was a combined result of antiforeign sentiment in Guangdong and the arrogance of Father Sarde Chanes. The approach adopted by the Paris Missionaries Society to the propagation of the Christian faith attracted and protected converts to some extent, but it connived at the evil-doing of its roguish church-goers, which resulted in the tarnished image of the church in China. |
