The ever largest group of western scientists and technicians in Chinese history came to China during Westernization Movement, who involved themselves in training Chinese, or doing translation, or writing about China, exerting a profound impact upon Chinese culture in various ways. Although they had made positive contribution to the Chinese culture, an evaluation of their influences should be conducted by taking into consideration specific circumstances and individual cases of that time.
