Cultural Orientation of Foreign Language Teaching in the New Century

The self consciousness in pursuit of language objective and the finiteness in quest of culture objective constitute the basic features in foreign language teaching of the new century. People come to realize that foreign language teaching can at no time be separated from the cultural background of the language, and from the trans cultural self consciousness. The more highly foreign language teaching upgrades, the more urgent demands for cultural background is behind this language. Therefore, the education on cultural knowledge and background of foreign language, as a relatively sound system, should be concentrated on as one part of the construction for foreign language teaching and course.
