| Abstract: | Xuanshi music in Chaozhou is a major music style in the family of Chaozhou music. The origination exploration, in terms of its history, naming, music notation, rhythms and perfonnance methods, and performance gestures, betrays that this music style retains the traces of archaic music, especially the music in Tang and Song dynasties. This paper puts forward three constructive suggestions on how to solve the exiting problems in Xuanshi music so that it may be further developed. |
