巴多明神父和他的《自然之码──孔子的诗》

法国神父巴多明（PereDominqueParrenin）1698年来华,曾在康熙、雍正、乾隆三朝任要职,他精通满文、汉文,熟读中国经书。他的《自然之码一孔子的诗》,名义上是一篇译文,实际上是他在天主教天堂思想的基础上,根据其对孔子关于道德的论述的理解,阐发了他本人的道德理想。这是一份研究中西文化碰撞与交融及异质文化阐释的一个实例,弥足珍贵。

Pere Dominique Parrenin and His Code of Nature-Poems of Confucius

Pere Dominique Parenin came to China in 1698 and died in Beijing on September 29,1741. He was in high favor with Emperor Kangxi, Empemr Yongzheng and Emperor Qianlong. Being well read in Chinese classics and having a good command of Manchu and Chinese, he wrote and translatal a lot in his lifetime. His "Code of Nature-Poems of Confucius", nominally a translation, is actually an elucidation of his moral ideals based on Catholic beliefs and his absorption of Confucius' exposition of morals. So this book is quite valuabe for the study of the exchange of Chinese and Westem cultures and the interpretation of different cultures.
