| Abstract: | The Long Waves" is an important novel in 2001. The realistic conditions and mental status provided by this novel is a history of the modern intellectuals' metamorphosis. It possesses high value for studying the mental course or the history of mental diseases of the modern intellectuals, who surrendered to the worldly power and money and developed the personality of leeching on to others. This novel gives an account of the profound realistic and historical causes of this phenomenon. |
