评陈序经的"文化圈围"理论与"全盘"西化观

陈序经在吸收西方文化思想的基础上 ,创立了他的“文化圈围”理论。这一理论认为 ,在世界上的文化广泛联系之前 ,它们都各自成为一个“圈围” ,每一个圈围都包含许多的成分 ,这些成分是密切联系而不可分的 ;一方面的波动必然影响到别的方面 ;它们只有程度的不同 ,而没有性质的差异。正是根据这一理论 ,陈序经得出了“全盘”西化这样一个极端的观点。因此 ,这一理论的性质也就决定了“全盘”西化观的性质

Chen Xujing''''s theory of Culture Circle and view of wholesale westernization

On the basis of absorbing western culture thoughts, Chen Xujing founded his theory of Culture Circle. The theory holds that before cultures widely come into contacts each of them exists as a circle;(1)each circle includes many ingredients which are closely related to one another and are impartible;(2)the change of one aspect necessarily causes the change of other aspects;(3)they differ only in degree instead of in nature. Chen Xu-jing concluded his ultra views of wholesale westernization just from such a theory. therefore the quality of the theory predestines the quality of wholesale westernization based on it.
