傅斯年与中国现代考古学的建立

傅斯年对推动中国现代考古学的建立,作出了卓越贡献。他不仅创建了中国现代考古学的专门机构,积极策划并大力推进考古发掘的开展;而且随着考古实践的发展,他不断提升对考古学理论与方法的认识,提出以＂整个的观念＂作为考古发掘的指导思想与对文物进行研究的准则,具有重要的方法论意义。他又为中国现代考古学人材的培养作出重大贡献,在其奖掖下成长起来的梁思永、夏鼐、石璋如等,均成为考古名家。傅斯年领导史语所所取得的考古成就,不仅改写了中国学者在学术上处处落后于国外的局面,而且为1949年后中国大陆与台湾地区考古学的蓬勃发展奠定了坚实基础。

Fu Sinian and the Establishment of China's Modern Archaeology

Fu Sinian made preeminent contributions in furthering the establishment of China＇s modern archaeology.He founded the specialized agency of archaeology in modern China and took an active part in planning and popularizing of archaeological excavation.Meanwhile,with the development of archeological practice,he continuously improved his cognition on the archeological theory and method.His proposal of taking the ＂entire conception＂ to guide the archaeological excavation and to study the antiquities was of great methodological significance.He also made great contributions in the training of scholars in the field of China＇s modern archaeology.Such figures as Liang Siyong,Xia Nai and Shi Zhangru,who were once rewarded and promoted by him,all grew into well-known archeologists.The archaeological achievements made by the Institute of History and Philology under his leadership not only reversed the situation that Chinese scholars fell behind foreign scholars in every academic aspect but made a solid foundation for the prosperous development of archaeology after the year 1949 both in Mainland China and Taiwan.
