中文系在当代文学活动中正面对着新的角色定位问题，为担当这些角色，必须处理好几层关系：读写教学与理论研究的关系；捍卫和继承文学传统与介入当代文学活动的关系；培养职业读者与培养学生的文学资质的关系；文学在今天的多元存在与深入研究各种亚文学和各种文本间的关系。
