神话作为一种最原始的遗留包含并传递着一个民族或一个氏族部落的远古时代的记忆和信息。蒙古族满族的天神神话有着鲜明的特点和有趣的形象，通过讲述天神之间发生的战争，体现了这个世界开初的模样和秩序，构建了宇宙模式，表现了初民对宇宙、人类本质的理解和认识。两部神话中天神及他们的战争既有共性也有个性，这些特点和其生产生活方式和民族思维、文化心理是密不可分的。
