"一位擎着火炬的侍女"--论中国近代思想史学科建设中的三大问题与九大关系

中国近代思想史的学科建设有三大问题需要解决,在解决这三大问题时需要处理好九大关系。一是如何解决近代思想史的独立的学科属性问题,这就必须正确处理近代思想史与哲学史、文化史、学术史三大关系,既要从各自特殊的研究对象和范围来确定其严格的学科分野,又要兼顾其互动关系;二是如何解决在近代思想史研究中确立价值中立原则的问题,正确处理事实判断与价值判断、主流话语与非主流话语、思想史与社会演进史三大关系,把历史分析与价值分析建立在价值中立的逻辑分析的基础上;三是如何解决在近代思想史研究中体现当代中国的时代精神问题,合理解决民族主义与世界主义、经验主义与理想主义、传统与现代三大关系,从不同的思想流派中吸纳一切合乎中国当代时代精神的合理思想因素。

"A Maid upholding a Torch"--On Three Problems and Nine Relations in the Study of Intellectual History of Modern China

Three problems ( nine relationships to be specific) must be appropriately settled in the discipline construction of Intellectual History of Modern China; 1. The disciplinary independence, which relies on smoothing the relationships between Intellectual History and that of Philosophy, Learning or Culture; 2. Value-free issues, which entail a proper handle of the opposite pairs;fact judge vs. value judge, mainstream discourse vs. local discourses, and intellectual history vs. evolutional social history; 3. The expression of the spirit of our present age in the study of Intellectual History of Modern China, which calls for a rational treatment of the contradistinctions: nationalism vs. cosmopolitanism, empiricism vs. idealism, and tradition vs. modernity.
