摘    要:英国语言学家杰弗里·利奇提出词语除了本身所具有的最基本的概念意义之外,还具有丰富的联想意义。联想意义是交际双方在特定文化,特定语境中对一个词语产生的特定感受。根据这一理论,笔者认为在做外宣资料英译时应该时刻将词语的联想意义考虑在内,做到正确遣词措意,打动读者。

Abstract:Abstract: According to the semantic analysis of Geoffrey Leech, The British linguist, words have not only conceptual meanings but associative meanings. The associative meaning of an expression has to do with individual mental understandings of the speaker. With this study, the author thinks that the associative meaning of words should be given great consideration in the translation of external publicity materials in order to choose the best and right word to convey message and impress readers.
