果戈理与鲁迅:民族"文化英雄"的赞颂者

Gogol and Lu Xun: Outstanding Authors Praising National Spirit and Culture Hero

Lu Xun's "Old Tales Retold" and Gogol's "Evenings on a Farm near Dikanka"show strong connection with the national culture. In his work an outstanding Russian writer of Ukrainian origin Mikola Gogol depicts national character, spirit of revenge and draws the image of culture hero of the Ukrainian nation, which was oppressed for centuries. Lu Xun's connection with the local culture of Shaoxing and Eastern Zhejiang appears in central stories of "Old Tales Retold" and shows an image of a hardworking, pleading in the name of the people national hero, and final triumph of his spirit of revenge. Although authors come from very different historical and cultural backgrounds, but they both express their deepest feelings towards national culture and praise the culture hero.
