说"爆"

“爆”是当代粤语中出现频率最高的词语之一。构成的词语极具方言特色,在粤语区书面语和言语交际中被广泛使用。通过对“爆”在当代使用情况的跟踪考察,结合广州方言文献资料进行参证分析,结果表明:“爆”的意义和用法在当代广州方言里都发生了较大变化,构成的方言新词语有些还进入了普通话的词汇系统,表现出方言与民族共同语的互动关系。

Interpretations of "Bao"

The meaning and usage of the word "bao" has changed greatly in contemporary Cantonese dialect. According to investigation, expressions formed with "bao" as a basic morpheme indicate distinctive local feature and have been used extensively both in written and in verbal communication. Through investigation to the current use of the word and analysis of related literature on Cantonese dialet, it is found that both the meaning and usage of "bao" have taken some great changes in Cantonese. Some of the newly-formed dialectal words have entered the vocabulary of the standard chinese, which shows the interaction between dialects and national language.
