英汉习语中喻体的取向及联想

摘    要:习语是语言和文化的精华,民族特色鲜明.从对比语言学的角度看,英汉习语中喻体的取向及联想由于自然环境、生产活动、习俗文化、文化传统以及宗教文化的影响,英汉习语中喻体、喻义呈现三种不同关系1.喻体相同、喻义相同;2.喻体相同、喻义相异;3.貌合神离.

Abstract:Idioms are the cream of any language and culture. They have distinctive national features. This paper analyses the differences of orientations and associations between veh icles in English and Chinese idioms. It indicates that due to the impact by the natural environment, productive activities, customs, cultural traditions as well as religious cultures, there are three kind s of homologous relations between vehicles and their associations in English and Chinese idioms: 1) the sa me vehicles with the same associations. 2) the same vehicles with different associations. 3) vehicles seemingly in harmony but a ctually at variance.
