Discussion on Quality Index and the Adjustment of Nominal Price Index

With the rapid progressing of science and technology, impacts on the measurement of price movement caused by the change of product quality is more and more obvious, and has become a challenge to current price index compilation. SNA has made some preliminary discussion to this issue but not into detail. In this article, authors point put the internal relations between product quality and price index, discuss the theoretical definition of quality index, and study the compilation of individual quality index and ensemble quality index.
