Definite skopos set and adequate translation achieved --Comment on Ying Ruocheng''''s translation of Teahouse

This paper analyses the drama Teahouse translated by Ying Ruocheng from the point of view of Skopos Theory. With detailed discussion of the text function, the target-text addressees, the time and place of text reception, the medium of translation and the motives for text production, the authors hold that Ying Ruocheng's translation of Teahouse is one of the master pieces in drama translation. This analysis could deepen our understanding of the nature of translation action and the motives for the choice of translation strategy.
