Modern Malaise and Its Scheme: Standpoints of a Communitarian——On Charles Taylor's Diagnosis of Modernity

Modernity is the most important problem in our times.Charles Taylor proposed the disparities in the understanding of modernity on the basis of the analysis of the intellectual history(cultural modernity and non-cultural modernity) and pointed it out that the acultural modernity was more important in the western culture. While modernity makes greater progress,it also brings with it a lot of malaises.To remove these malaises,and to find the outlet for modernity is to resume the cultural understanding of modernity and to situate the atomized self and its freedom.
