| Abstract: | After the Mid-Tang Dynasty, with development of commodity economy, the relation between town and country changed from antagonism to a concurrence of antagonism and mutual dependence, which reflected the transformation of productive relations caused by development of productive forces at that time. The present essay is an analysis of the said relation and the various factors that contributed to it. |
