| 摘 要： | 本文分析了目前一些语法著作对英语动词进行体研究的某些局限性,区分了由进行体这一语法形态表示的体态意义与动词和句子中其他成分构成的体态意义。由此得出英语动词进行体的基本语义是说话人选择从内部焦点观察情景,关注情景的内部结构,并借用动词进行体的形式表达自己对情景的主观看法。

| Abstract: | This paper divides the aspectuality of a sentence into two parts, distinguishing between the aspectuality of the progressive form of the main verb and that of the lexical components. It concludes that the basic meaning of the progressive aspest is that the speaker chooses to observe a situation from an internal view, focusing on the internal structure. |
