论人类语言的局限

语言是人类创造出的最伟大的符号设计，它在人类交往活动中发挥了巨大的作用，但它自身亦存在着诸多局限：语言的线条性决定了语言不可能共时地再现立体的、多维的世界；语言的概括性决定了语言不可能充分地表达尽事物所包含的意蕴；语言功能的有限性决定了语言不可能独自地发挥交际与思维作用。清楚地了解和认识语言的局限，对于全面地、客观地、准确地把握语言、运用语言、超越语言有着积极的重要意义。

On the Limitations of Human Language

Language is the greatest symbol design that is created by human beings. It plays a very important role in the activities of communication. However, there still exist some limitations in the language: its linearity makes it impossible to reshow the stereoscopic and multi-dimensional world,its generality makes it impossible to express fully the meanings embodied in things;its limitations in function makes it impossible to give alone play to the functions of communication and thinking.It is of great importance to know clearly the limitations of language in comprehensively, objectively and accurately mastering, exploiting and overstepping the language.
