| 摘 要： | 美国文学的先驱人物詹姆斯.费尼莫尔.库柏在他的《皮袜子故事集》中第一次以神奇瑰丽的西部荒原为背景,塑造了机智高贵的西部英雄形象,讲述了蛮荒之地的传奇。库柏把对西部的想像和冒险故事的情节模式有机地结合起来,创造了西部小说这一特定的小说模式,从而为美国小说乃至美国文学走向独立开辟了道路。
