The development of personality is the core of Marxism's humanity study. It is also the basic problem,target and means of modern society's development. There are outspread and supressive dual influences on personality development in modern society. The suppression of personality in modern society is not good to the personality development, and to the development of modern society itself. So, the relationship between the mutual development of modern society and personality should be coordinated. And the development of socialist market economy should pay more attention to the coordination with the personality.
