Confucianism is the symbol of the traditional Chinese culture.As early as in the 4th century,Confuciarism was spread to Japan and began it profound influence upon the Japanese history and culture since then.A great impact it had is on the honorific speech in Japanese,which in tum proves that the Confucius philosophy has shaped the thinking patterns and moral consciousness of Japanese people.The contrastive analysis in this paper will be helpful for Japanese language learners to have a better understanding of the honorific speech in the language.
