| 摘 要： | 美国的历史文化环境孕育了重视行动和效果的实用主义哲学,实用主义哲学又培养了美国人的求实态度和进取精神,并且适应了美国人对付激烈竞争的社会生活的要求。所以实用主义精神成为美国的一种民族精神,在其整个历史发展进程中起着重要作用。研究这一问题,对我们深刻认识美国具有重要意义。

| Abstract: | American history and culture are pregnant with pragmtic philosophy of devoting much attention to both action and effenctiveness. However,pragmatic philosophy also nurtures American's matter -of-fact attitude and the spirit of keeping forging ahead, and suit her demands on social ife in dealing with sharp competition. So pragmatic spirit marks her national spirit, and plays an important role in the historical progress. It is of great importance for us to tesearch it in order to know America. |
