American Progressive Movement and the Rise of Middle Class

The rise of Progressive Movement in American at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century is closely related to the middle class＇ pursuit for social recognition： the middle class led the social reform during the indus- trializing, which made the progressivism a greatly influencial idea at the age and in modem American history; whereas the Progressive Movement initiated the group sense of the middle class and hecped them to win the social recognition and realize their social image and value under the reputation of ＂muckrakers＂, ＂Social Settlement Workers＂ , ＂anti-individualists＂ and ＂government reformers＂ as well.
