| Abstract: | Metaphor belongs to the cognitive category,and has multiple and deep ties with human language,thinking and cultural system. This paper,from the aspects of perception, meaning extension and a new word learning of basic vocabulary in English vocabulary teaching, introduces the application of cognitive metaphor in English teaching in detail,attempts to provide a useful reference for the vast number of front-line workers to carry out English vocabulary acquisition teaching. |
