Reasons on the Structural Convergence of Industries Based on Economic Census Data

This article finds that the growth rate of GDP indicating local protections have strengthened provincially structural convergence of industries， supporting the results of previous studies. The policy implication is that the current assessing system of local cadres by the growth rate of GDP should be reformed by substituting the growth rate of GDP for the improvement of residents’ welfare and gradually bringing the residents’ evaluation on the local cadres into consideration.
