在译与不译之间:诗歌翻译浅谈

从译语读者的角度出发 ,以“功能对等”原则为理论基础 ,提出“译诗为诗”的原则。诗歌翻译是在两种语言、文化中进行选择和取舍 ,即在内容和形式上 ,以语言、文化为标准进行取舍 ,以求达到原诗和译诗的平衡和对等。译诗以原诗为依据 ,但并不等同于原诗。因此 ,诗歌翻译是在译与不译之间寻求一种平衡 ,最恰当地传达原诗的意旨。

A Balance between Translating and Not Translating

The structural and cultural differences between Chinese and English make it difficult to translate poetry from one language into another. From a TL reader's angle, this paper holds that poetry translation, guided by the principle of functional equivalence, is by and large a process of striking a dynamic balance between translating and not translating in terms of content and form in order to transmit the aesthetic effect of the SL text to the greatest extent.
