吴趼人文化观的构成是多层面的 ,从其发生和发展来看 ,它以体认“中学为体 ,西学为用”为起点 ,以接受资产阶级改良派、维新派的思想为中介 ,在吸收和批判西方文化思想的过程中 ,表现出对以儒家文化为主干的中国传统文化回归。在探索中国未来的道路时 ,其文化观的形成与中国社会各种思想的交锋有着密切的关系 ,而且是其小说创作的原动力。

Probing into Wu Jianren's Views on Culture

Wu Jianren's views on culture are manifold. In view of their origins and development, his ideas came from such opinions as "use of Western culture on the basis of Chinese culture", and in the process of absorbing and criticizing thoughts of Western culture, by accepting the ideas of the bourgeois reformers, showed a return to traditional Chinese culture with Confucianism as its mainstream .On his way to explore the future of China, Wu Jianren formed his ideas on culture in close relation to conflicts with other thoughts in society, which became his motivation for the creation of novels.
