| Abstract: | By re-examining 20 films in varying degrees,this essay accounts for the fact that the Shanghai cinema in 1930s and 1940s has a large quantity of excellent films and well-known stars.Thus it displays a deep modernity of keeping a simultaneous development with the world's advanced culture. |
