百年埃及学研究综述

Egyptology in 20th Century

Egyptology has been a history of more than 200 years. However,Egyptology as a scientific study,and an important part of ancient world civilizations study, happened in the 100 years of 20th century. It is in the 100 years of the 20th century that the archeology in Egypt completed the change from chasing treasure to scientific digging. Most important discoveries were made in 20th century. The Egyptian language, as a base for understanding ancient Egyptian civilization, deciphered in 19th century, but the establishing of Egyptian grammatical system and the scientific explanation to most documents of Egypt are the results of the efforts of Egyptologists in 20th century.
