现代主义无边界

帝国主义时代虽然已经终结，但其现代主义的文化却再一次引发了人们的兴趣。后殖民阶段新的力量布局让人们思考现代主义非西方历史的可能性及意义所在。随着新的“当代”概念的应运而生，后殖民批评为新的“当代”认识论构建了基础，“多元现代性”的宏伟蓝图被描画出来，现代主义被称为“没有国界的艺术”。恩维泽用黑格尔式的逻辑证明非洲当代艺术不是后现代主义对现代主义的拒绝，而是现代性“目的论延展”的结果。现代性不能被否定，只能被完成。 

Modernism without Borders
