The Influence of the Criticism of the Film "Wu Xun Biography" on Guo Moruo——Comment on Guo Moruo's Academic Character and Academic Style

Guo Moruo＇s original evaluation of Wu Xun was impartial and his comments were historical. Still he failed to grasp the two sides of the history. After a literature critique movement, Guo Moruo＇s academic character and academic style produced two kinds of transformation： from the representative of traditional intellectuals to the representative of the mainstream culture; from the people - oriented position to the official - oriented position. This shift was a left - leaning political orientation which was the extremely abnormal product of mandatory requirements for cultural and academic practices. The study of the influence of the ＂Wu Xun biography＂ criticism on Guo Moruo＇s academic character and style will help with the study of Guo Moruo as well as contemporary literature research of China.
