在理智与情感之间徘徊——近代小说理论家理论追求的矛盾心理

近代小说理论家出于社会革命和启蒙的需要推行小说改良,虽把小说由不入流的“小道”地位提高到救国济世的地位,但传统文化的积淀仍然存有对小说的鄙视心理。因此,在理论追求中他们徘徊于理智与情感之间,在推崇新小说的同时又鄙视旧小说;虽然提倡通俗白话,但是在写作中喜用文言;虽然提倡学习西方小说,但是不愿承认传统小说的落后,事实上又对小说传统一脉相承。新小说的出现与失败都是由此而生。

The linger between Sensation and Sensibility--Analysis on Contrary Emotion of the Pursuit of Mordern Novel Theorist

In modern times, the novel theorists, holding up the flag of novel improvement, pushed the novel into the position of saving the nation for the needs of social revolutionary and initiation. But the long - lasting limitation of traditional culture made the theorists despised the novel in their inner heart. So there existed some conflicts and misunderstandings in their attitudes to traditional and foreign novels. From the three pionts below: (1)praising highly new novel and despiting old novel; (2)the contrary and misunderstaning of advocating vernacular and favor of classical Chinese; (3)the malposition of learning the west and loving the tradition. This paper will analyze the contrary emotions of modern novelists in details.
