Art Music Composition in Macao: An Evaluation of the Status Quo

The status of music composition represents a region's consciousness of music creation. Its prosperity is inextricably linked with its regional culture and civilization. In turn, art music writing can feed back into the development of regional culture and civilization. We cannot be optimistic about its status in Macao, despite its relative growing advantages and potential. Music creation itself plays a leading role as one of the fundamental links in local cultural construction, which can be a good beginning for the development of local art music if we can fully realize and attach more significance to it.
