近代早期欧洲妓女问题研究

中世纪的基督教强调禁欲和苦行主义,但却容忍妓女的存在,将卖淫视为必要的罪恶。教会的容忍和现实的需要,使得妓女在欧洲历史上一直存在,但在不同时代欧洲妓女呈现出不同的特征。在欧洲从传统社会向现代社会过渡的近代早期,妓女这个群体经历了三个不同的发展阶段:从中世纪的合法群体到16、17世纪被视为洪水猛兽,受到镇压和驱逐,再到18世纪及其以后社会环境的宽松。妓女的这一变化在很大程度上体现了社会宽容度的扩大。

European Prostitute in Early Modern Europe

In the Middle Ages,Christianity emphasized on abstinency,but bore with prostitute,and treated prostitution as a necessary evil.Because of Church's tolerance and practical demand,prostitutes always exit in Europe,but vary in different ages.In early modern time,prostitutes went through three different phases in Europe: firstly legal group in medieval time;secondly suppressed group in 16th and 17th century;thirdly sympathized group in 18th century.These changes on prostitutes have largely embodied the rising o...
