歌与诗的起源及原始功能异同

歌与诗起源于不同的言说时空。歌源于原始人类自由的言说,诗则起于西周集居住、行政、宗教祭祀于一体的宫廷政坛的＂限定言说时空＂。不同的起源,决定了歌与诗不同的原始功能：歌的本质是音乐,更多用于个体的抒情言志;诗的原始本质是一种政治工具,其原始功能限定在政治的歌功颂德与讽谏。

On the Differences of the Origin and Primitive Functions of Songs and Poetry

Songs and poetry do not share the same verbal origin in time-space. The former comes from the political speech in the royal courts of Xizhou Dynasty which are characterized by a union of residential, administrative and religious sacrifice-offering ceremonial functions while the latter evolves from the free speech of the primitive man. Because of their different origins, songs and poetry have different primitive functions. Songs are music in nature, and as such they are used for expression of personal emotions and ambitions. As a political tool in nature, poetry has a primitive function of eulogizing the virtues and achievements of political leaders as well as satirizing and admonishing them.
