布什政府眼中的中国形象

对中美相互形象认知的研究是理解中美关系实质的重要前提之一。布什政府上台至今,对中国的形象有了比较清晰的认知。其基本中国形象认知有“发展中的经济大国”、“不够民主的社会主义国家”、“潜在的军事威胁”和“影响力逐渐增强的全球行为体”等。同时,布什政府的对华形象认知又带有不可避免的两重性。这种两重性的形象认知影响着布什政府的对华政策。

Bush Administration's Image of China

The study of Sino-U.S. mutual perception of image is an important precondition of understanding the nature of Sino-U.S. relations. By now, the Bush government has a clearer perception of China's image. Its basic perception of China icludes: a developing economic power, a not so democratic socialist country, a potential military threat, and a globabl actor with increasing influences. Bush Administration's image of China has an inevitable duality of itself. U.S. dualistic perception of China's image influences its policy towards China.
