Peace and War from the Perspective of the Peace Studies

In the history, the increase of war and the development of society are synchronous. Violence became the means in order to achieve peace. The ways and the details to achieve peace are important issues of the Peace Studies. Peace can be divided into the negative peace and the positive peace. The negative peace involves the absence of the direct violence, and it tolerates the structure violence; the positive peace transforms conflict with nonviolence. Peace not only indicates the absence of wars, but also includes a favorable social structure and environment. "There is no way to peace," but "peace is the only way."
