According to Samuel Beckett,the well-known Irish playwright,the characters in most of his plays develop a disease called "existential syndrome",which is traced back to the birth of human beings.Beckett accepts the idea that man’s birth is his original sin,but he does not agree with the way of Christian atonement.The article attempts to interpret Beckett’s sense of responsibility as a writer.
