| 摘 要： | 莎拉.奥恩.朱厄特被誉为美国19世纪下半叶出色的乡土文学女作家。她以清秀娟美的笔描绘了新英格兰地区的风土人情。她的作品大部分描述的是乡村女性,虽然她们中大多要么是年迈未婚,要么是早年丧偶,但是生活的独立和充满活力性情让她们相互照顾、彼此支持、亲近自然,成为朱厄特作品中具有特殊气质的女性群体。

| Abstract: | Sarah Orne Jewett is recognized as American female local color writer in the 19th century.She pictured the life and people of New England region with her familiar and intimate eyes.Most female characters in her works are country women,who were either widowed or spinsters.In spite of these limitations,these women were independent,vigorous,close to the nature,and caring for one another.They formed the special female qualities in Jewett's works. |
